John Wesley preached at St. Ives
1784 St. Ives Society met in E. Asplin's house
1792 A barn was used as a place of worship
1793 First St. Ives Methodist Minister
1811 Wesleyan Chapel in Huntingdon built
1815 Wesleyan Chapel in St. Ives built
1840 Chapel renovated and vestry enlarged
1850 Porch added to 1815 Chapel
1859 A Chapel Keeper (Caretaker) employed, paid £4 3s 0d a year and nearby house.
1865 Enlargement of Chapel cost £421 4s 9d and organ cost £179 14s 9d.
1891 Inventory of Minister's mid-terrace house:- One linoleum floor cloth, a steel fender, set of 5 chairs, square dining table, a table cloth, lace curtains and fittings, 3 shelves, a stool and a lamp. (Not Much!)
1904 Last Service in 1815 Chapel (15th April)
1904 Foundation Stone-Laying Ceremony (26th May)
1904 Sunday School premises opened by Mrs. G. Brownlow, mayoress of St. Ives (29th September)
1905 New St. Ives Chapel built (24th May)
1914 First World War begins - Schoolroom used as Red Cross Hospital.
1939 Second World War begins - Schoolroom used as Red Cross Hospital.
1955 Jubilee Service, preacher Rev. C.O. Ward
1996 Fire in Church (10th January)
1997 Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication.
