Tuesday Afternoon Fellowship meet each Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. to provide a Mid-week, Devotional meeting, followed by tea and cake and a time to socialise.
All are welcome regardless of age, gender or denominational background (or none). Lifts can be arranged for those in need.
We aim to maintain our Ecumenical tradition, with speakers drawn from various denominations, backgrounds and charities. We also have member's meetings, once a month, with a particular theme, when members are encouraged to participate in our act of worship and join in discussions. We love to sing old and new Hymns and Choruses, thanks to our three pianists. Prayer is also a vital element of our meetings.
Financially, we support the Church with an annual donation and have Fund Raising events for special projects. We also support Network on a regular basis and N.C.H. at Christmas, with a special service. Our chosen charity this year is 'Turn on the Tap' for which we collect small change in a water bottle
Through the year, we also support various other charities on a 'one off' basis, such as the Gideons and Methodist Homes for the Aged, for which members have been knitting squares and making blankets, ready for their 65th Anniversary Celebrations.
There is a strong bond of friendship and fellowship amongst members, supporting each other at difficult times and sharing each others joys and celebrations. We try to extend this to past members, who are now housebound, by sending cards at Christmas, Easter and Birthdays and visiting when possible.
We endeavour to be represented at Network meetings in the Circuit and District when possible. During the Summer break, we try to arrange an outing or garden party, and meet in member's homes. Several of our members are involved with Community Projects such as Charity Shops and Day Centres.
